During the first seven years of your child's life, their visual system is still developing.
It is vital during these early years that any vision defects are detected and
appropriate action is taken to resolve these problems.
Common problems include :-
The first time your child starts to really use their visual system is at school. Suddenly they have to look at specific objects and images for longer and harder than before and it's at this time that
any vision defects, previously not seen, may start to become obvious.
Noakes & Habermehl believe that all children of pre-school age should have an eye examination, and despite the NHS funding such appointments, many parents still fail to recognise or report vision problems in their children until it's too late.
If your child is about to start school, just take the time to arrange an eye examination for them.
