VOCATIONAL EYEWEAR

At Noakes Habermehl & Kerr we take vocational eyewear very seriously. Since most of us spend more time during our waking hours at work than at home, the eyewear you use has to be able to perform within the work place.

From protective eyewear to enhanced reading spectacles, we supply a wide range of workplace eyewear suited to your needs.

VISUAL TASK ANALYSIS

For us to fully understand your visual requirements at work, we will ask you a series of questions related to your type of work. It's a good idea for you to have in mind the answers to the following questions : -

From your answers, our qualified dispensing opticians can build up a mental picture of the visual tasks your eyes perform while you are at work. From this information we are able to advise you on the type, design and specification of spectacle lens and frame that will best suit your requirements.

For clients who spend much of their day in front of a VDU we can, upon request, supply a VDU certificate of recommendation, This document will help your employer to decide if they have any responsibility to provide you with or help you with work place eyewear. Visual Task Analysis is also widely used when fitting spectacles for use with hobbies such as needlework or model making.

ENHANCED NEAR VISION FOR HOME OR WORK

At Noakes & Habermehl we offer a wide range of specialist lenses for VDU, desk, workbench and hobby use. "Enhanced Reading Lenses" can be tailored to your specific requirements and may include reading, intermediate (set to a specific working distance) and room distance vision (3 - 5 meters). They employ a similar technology to "progressive lenses", so there's no visual divide between the different areas of the lens.

INDUSTRAL SAFETY SPECTACLES

We offer a full service to all our commercial clients, providing their employees with British Safety Standard, Kite marked safety spectacles for use in the work place.

Specially subsidised fees are applied to these orders and we're always pleased to provide prospective new clients with a quotation.

Employers provide each employee with a risk assessment and specify the level of protection required. Currently three lens types are used. Basic resin for low levels of risk, polycarbonate for high impact risks and toughened glass for chemical and abrasion resistance.

We also supply private clients with the same levels of protective eyewear for use with hobbies such and wood turning and mechanics.

CORPORATE SCREENING

We provide a full service to corporate clients wishing to have their employees "screened" for office or industrial safety spectacles.
