A brief history
We opened our first practice in Alexandra Road, Crownhill, Plymouth in 1979.
​
In 1986 we built our unique and iconic stand alone practice in Crownhill.
​
From small beginnings we have grown into a modern optical group with five well established practices based in and around Plymouth, South West Devon and Cornwall, along with our state-of-the-art optical lab at Ivybridge.
​
We pride ourselves on retaining a high proportion of clinically qualified staff, working with local universities to offer placements to medical and optometry students and we regularly support a pre-reg Optometrist during their final year of qualification.

In recent years, we've undertaken one of our largest ever investments in new technology; Optical CT Scanners in every practice, Digital Slit-Lamps and hospital-grade Field-of-Vision instruments - see innovations. Our commitment to clinical excellence allows for a gradual move to offering more enhanced eyecare and further specialist services - see enhanced eye exams
