A brief history
We opened our first practice in Alexandra Road, Crownhill, Plymouth in 1979. ​In 1986 we built our unique and iconic stand alone practice in Crownhill. ​From small beginnings we have grown into a modern optical group with five well established practices based in and around Plymouth, South West Devon and Cornwall, along with our state-of-the-art optical lab at Ivybridge.

We pride ourselves on retaining a high proportion of clinically qualified staff, working with local universities to offer placements to medical and optometry students and we regularly support a pre-reg Optometrist during their final year of qualification.​ We have built a solid reputation for clinical excellence; demonstrated by the volume of positive reviews and comments we regularly receive.

In recent years, we've undertaken one of our largest ever investments in new technology; Optical CT Scanners in every practice, Digital Slit-Lamps and hospital-grade Field-of-Vision instruments. Our commitment to clinical excellence allows for a gradual move to offering more enhanced eyecare and further specialist services.
