Low Vision

For some people, a significant vision impairment can make everyday life difficult, even with glasses. Common issues may include: blurriness, loss of side vision, poor night sight or light sensitivity. Aids like magnifiers or assistive technology can help make the best of what vision you have . . .

Our mission is to ensure you have the tools and advice to make the most of your sight.

More to offer you . . .

Unlike many of our bigger competitors, who have chosen to reduce the diversity of eyecare services on offer, we are constantly looking to expand ours. From a range of eye exams to Myopia control, Colorimetry, dry eye and low vision, we want to offer you the very best eyecare available.

Regular eye exams . . .

If you are concerned about your own vision or that of a relative, the first step, is to have an eye examination. This will help us to decide if specialist intervention is required.

Low vision assessments . . .

If you do not require intervention from an outside low vision specialist, we can refer you to our own low vision practitioner, at our Callington practice.

Simple solutions . . .

Often a simple magnifying glass will provide the appropriate level of improvement. You may also find a illuminated one works even better. After discussing your requirements, our low vision practitioner will be able to determined the correct power.

Utilising technology . . .

There are some very clever electronic devices, aids and even phone apps now available, that can make life easier. Our low vision practitioner will be able to discuss your requirements and provide advice on the most appropriate devices.

Getting advice . . .

We also provide holistic advice because there are a great number of small changes you can make around the house, to maximise your potential vision. Such things as the best colour frequency of light bulbs, window dressings and reading locations, can all help.
