Carbis Bay Opticians is now closed

When we opened this practice, we were filled with confidence that it would indeed prove to be a success, just like our other practices. We worked very hard to try and achieve this and we had some wonderful patients.

Unfortunately, we just didn’t have enough of them!

This may have a lot to do with the transient population in the area; second homes, holiday lets etc. and despite our considerable efforts, the Directors took the difficult decision to close the practice on 18th December 2024.

We appreciate that this news may come as a surprise, however we would like to reassure our patients that your clinical records have been retained centrally and are available, should your new Optician require them.

We would like to thank you for your support over the last six years.

Frequently asked questions

What’s happened to my clinical records?

Nothing. We are required to retain your records digitally for at least ten years. They are held securely on our central database.

How do I find out when my next routine appointment is due?

Open the last prescription statement we gave you and go down to the bottom left-hand corner. Here it will tell you the month and year that your next appointment is due.

NHK Prescription Statement

I cannot find my last prescription statement

Please call our Callington practice, they will be able to tell you when your next appointment is due.

My new Optician has asked about my last prescription

Please ask your new Optician to call our Callington practice. So long as you are present to give us permission to hand over details about your prescription when they call, we will be happy to provide any information your new Optician requires.

I wear contact lenses and need to order more

We are happy to continue supplying you with the same lenses as before, however once a year has elapsed since your last contact lens aftercare visit with us, you will need to arrange a new aftercare visit with another local Optician. We are happy to provide them with your previous lens details. Please ask them to call our Callington practice.

Can I obtain a full copy of my clinical records?

We can provide a digital copy of your records upon request however, it is normally impractical to include any OCT scan data or retinal photographs, due to the very large file sizes involved. Please call our Callington practice to discuss this further.

I have another issue regarding my clinical records or eyewear I purchased from you.

Please contact our Customer Services Manager via email: carbis@nhkopticians.co.uk
